What we do

If you want to learn more, head over to the Education page to learn about solar, the different systems, different components, how to size / select your system and even the detailed settings once it is installed. Also have a look at some of the detailed articles on some of our previous projects.

Once you know what you want, have a look at our different base Packages on the KIT BUILDER page and customize it to your needs. Generate your own quick Estimate and if you like what you see, contact us for a formal Quote and we will call you to make sure the system is correct for your purposes.

Once the design is agreed and finances arranged, our team will install your system in no time.

At this stage we only do installations in Gauteng and surrounds, but due to our “Raptor Nest” concept, we can ship Back-up packages (no solar panels) to anywhere in South Africa and you can arrange your own electrician to connect it to your house’s Distribution Board. You can always use a local supplier to install panels afterwards.

Raptor Nest

“Raptor Nest” is the name of our Pre-built, ready-for-installation Inverter and Battery unit (with all necessary protection, cables, switches etc.). By doing this work at our workshop, it saves significant time when installing it on site.

We can also ship it anywhere in South-Africa and you can arrange your own electrician to install it into your Distribution Board and add solar panels if you want to. When ordering a Raptor Nest for own installation, please specify if it must be “Solar Ready” by including the protection gear etc for the solar panels. (PS: Unfortunately we do no ship panels at this stage).

Corneel du Toit

Corneel du Toit

Founding Director

Corneel is an Engineer with MBA(Cum Laude) with many years’ experience at a large Investment bank in South Africa. He has been involved in funding numerous utility scale renewable energy plants as well as many mining financings across the continent. He has a passion for learning new stuff, for training and helping people and he loves problem solving and working with his hands. After doing his own installation under control of a family electrician, he was hooked. He completed and passed the Association For Renewable Energy Practitioner’s P4 test (“AREP”) and he thus understands the ins and outs of solar quite well.

Francois du Toit

Sales and Installer

Before joining the Raptor Solar team, Francois was a self employed handyman since 2008. His focus area was the maintenance and renovation of residential and investment buildings. Understanding the structure of a building and it’s roof, he uses his knowledge and experience to make sure that every installation maintains the integrity of your home or office building.

His family home, on a smallholding, is completely disconnected from Eskom. That makes him perfect to advise our clients on developing a system that will suit the client’s needs and lifestyle, how life will be after Raptor Solar has done their installation and maintenance of the installation in the years to come.
